Starting a new journey is always filled with excitement and challenges. At Tryble Rugby, these first six months have been a whirlwind of learning, growth, and connection. As a community dedicated to youth rugby in Doha, Qatar, we have gained valuable insights, built strong relationships, and prepared for an even better future. I want to share our story with you—our lessons learned, the community we are proud to nurture, and why we are gearing up for a strong return this September after a well-deserved summer break.

Lessons Learned in Our First Six Months

Launching Tryble Rugby has been an incredible experience. We quickly realised that youth Rugby is not just about teaching sport skills; it’s about creating a safe, supportive environment where children can grow physically, socially, and emotionally. Here are some key lessons we’ve learned:

  • Consistency builds trust

Families in Doha want reliable programs that fit their busy schedules. We focused on maintaining regular training sessions and clear communication. This consistency helped parents feel confident in our commitment.

  • Adaptability is essential

Qatar’s climate and cultural diversity mean we must be flexible. We adjusted training times to avoid the hottest hours and tailored coaching styles to respect different backgrounds and learning paces.

  • Community matters most

Youth rugby thrives when players, parents, and coaches feel connected. We saw how friendships formed on the field translated into support off the field. This sense of belonging motivates kids to keep coming back.

  • Safety and fun go hand in hand

Teaching proper techniques and ensuring safety protocols are followed is our top priority. At the same time, we keep sessions fun and engaging to foster a lifelong love for the sport.

These lessons have shaped how we operate and grow. We are grateful for the feedback from parents and players, which helps us improve every day.

Building a Strong Community in Doha

Tryble Rugby is more than a sports program; it’s a community hub for families who want their children to experience the benefits of youth rugby. We have worked hard to create a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels included.

  • Inclusive environment

Our teams include children from various nationalities living in Qatar. We celebrate this diversity and encourage respect and teamwork among all players.

  • Local partnerships

Collaborating with schools and local organizations in Doha helps us reach more children and provide better resources. These partnerships also promote rugby as a positive sport choice in the community.

Our community is growing steadily, and the enthusiasm we see from both kids and parents inspires us to keep improving.

Winding Down for Summer and Looking Ahead to September

As the summer heat in Doha intensifies, we are taking a short break to recharge. This pause allows us as coaches to plan new programs and review & improve training methods. It also gives players time to rest and recover. A crucial but often forgotten part of youth sports.

We are excited about what September will bring. Our plans include:

  • Expanded training sessions

We will introduce more age groups and skill levels to accommodate growing interest in youth rugby across Doha.

  • Enhanced coaching

Our coaches will participate in additional training over the summer to bring fresh techniques and ideas to the field.

  • Community outreach

We aim to host rugby introduction days at schools and compounds to welcome new players. Feel free to get in contact at +974 3312 8474 if your compound/ school is interested.

We believe these steps will strengthen our community and provide even better experiences for young athletes.

Final Thoughts

Reflecting on our first six months at Tryble Rugby, we feel proud of what we have built together in Doha. Youth rugby is more than a game here; it’s a way to teach important life skills, build friendships, and create a supportive community. As we pause for summer, we look forward to returning with renewed energy and exciting plans for September.
